Introduction
The Bachelor of Technology in Computer Systems is a career-enhancement degree designed to increase the depth of knowledge and practical skills of computer technologists, and to assist them in widening their career opportunities or in advancing along their career paths. Graduates are awarded a credential that will be highly valued by industry and are qualified to compete for intermediate positions such as information technologist, software developer, or system analyst.
The Bachelor of Technology in Computer Systems is offered in two formats. The degree can be completed in the full-time format within two years, or over a period of up to seven years in the part-time format. The three components to the degree program are the technical component including coursework in the Computer Systems and Management areas, the liberal arts component and the practicum. The practicum allows the student to apply specialty knowledge in a real-life project, study or applied-research project under the supervision of a committee.
